The Dandy Warhols Do Things Themselves With New Album
The Dandy Warhols are back in orbit with their eighth full-length album, Earth To The Dandy Warhols, the first release for their new Beat The World Records.
Album opener "The World The People Together (Come On)" is available as a free download on The Dandy Warhols' website. A downloadable version of the entire 13-song record can be purchased on the site as of May 19 as part of a new online subscription service. The band's last album, 2005's Odditorium Or Warlords Of Mars, came out through Capitol.
The album was produced by Warhols vocalist/guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor. The rest of the Portland, Ore. group is composed of guitarist Peter Holmstrom, keyboardist/bassist/vocalist Zia McCabe and drummer/vocalist Brent DeBoer. "Love Song" includes contributions from Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler and Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell.
The Dandys will tour Europe in July and are planning a North American tour for the fall.
